Ron Hopkins, 76, of Carson City, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on December 13th following a lengthy battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Teddi, of 51 years. He is also survived by his daughters Shannon Hopkins Cotgias and husband Steve of Reno, and Rhonda Hopkins Allison and husband Richard of Carson City. He was a devoted grandfather to his one and only granddaughter, Carley Allison.Ron was a proud member of the U.S. Army and served in Korea from 1955 - 1958. He moved his family to Carson City in 1973 to start his own business, Ron’s Refrigeration, which is still in the family being run by his son-in-law, Richard.RV’ing and camping with his friends and family was something that he truly treasured. He and his wife travelled across the western United States in their motorhome exploring our great National Parks. He loved taking his Jeep in the back roads of Nevada searching for ghost towns and historical relics. He was passionate about collecting antiques. He was fascinated by the Hawaiian culture and music. He enjoyed spending time in Hawaii, exploring each of the islands with his wife and granddaughter.Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor and practical jokes. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Ron’s family invites you to share your memories at a “Celebration of Life” at the Quail Run Clubhouse at 1160 Gambrel Drive on Saturday, December 21st, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
