One of these times we hope to see somebody reach out with a long and strong arm and snatch some blackguard hoodlum whose spirit of cussedness finds vent through the throwing of spitballs and jerking paper darts from the gallery of the theater. Night before spitballs were flying in great profusion, and the program, made to throw like a dart, came sailing down from the direction of the gallery and lit upon a lady’s bonnet, sticking there and calling annoying attention to itself.

Narrow Escape. James H. Kinkead, superintendentthan of the J.&K. Mine, was coming up the shaft on a ladder when he was hit on the head by a falling rock weighing 12 or 15 pounds. It cut an ugly gash in his scalp over two inches long. He was 60 feet from the bottom when he heard it coming and braced himself to maintain his hold. His escape from death was miraculous. — Gazette.

With Lake Tahoe lower than for many years, officials of the Reno Power, Light & Water Company are anxiously awaiting a storm that will fill the lake above the dam sill.

Motion pictures depicting beautiful skiing scenes at Galena Creek were shown by Gilbert Doll, forest ranger to members of the 20-30 Club in Carson City. Highlighting the meeting was a report on the successful cutting of Christmas trees by 20-30 members and Boy Scouts.

Robert N. Broadbent, commissioner of the Interior Department’s Bureau of Reclamation, presented Congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich with a check for $5,045,832 representing half the royalties and rentals collected from federal mineral leases in Nevada.
