130 years agoJ.N. Barstow, the railroad agent from Luning, who was beaten within an inch of his life by B.W. McLaine of that camp, was in town recently and looks much better, yet still weak from the rough handling. Those who know McLaine know his father killed a man named Shepard at Candelaria.
