Sheriff: Ax-wielding man arrested after chase

A man with an ax led deputies on a chase through several yards Thursday morning, Sheriff Ken Furlong said.Deputies were seeking to arrest him on a $40,000 justice court warrant. As units entered the area the man was thought to be in, he was spotted carrying luggage, Furlong said. He ran into an open garage, dumped the majority of the luggage and then led deputies on a foot pursuit across several yards and over several fences, Furlong said.The man confronted at least one person before he was apprehended. He dropped the ax while he was running; it’s unknown why he had it.
