Man stable after being stabbed

A 22-year-old man had a collapsed lung as a result of a stabbing Monday night at a house on Rex Circle.Leo Reyes-Jacinto, 31, allegedly stabbed Adam Gaudette shortly before 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve, when first responders were called. A group had been drinking in the garage of the house prior to the altercation, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. The person who called 911 stated she asked Gaudette to tell everyone it was time to leave because it was getting late. A short time later, the caller told deputies she heard yelling and screaming coming from the outside of her house and Gaudette stumbled through the back door, stating he had been stabbed.Gaudette was taken by medical helicopter to Reno for a collapsed lung. He is in stable condition, Sheriff Ken Furlong said Tuesday.Deputies began to search for the suspect, Reyes-Jacinto, on Dori Way. The deputies saw a person matching the suspect’s description attempting to hide behind a tree off of Dori Way. The man was told to raise his arms and replied to deputies that he could not because he had dislocated his shoulder, according to the sheriff’s office. He was arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon. His bail has been set at $30,000.Two others were cited for minor in consumption of alcohol.The incident still is under investigation.Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office or secret witness at 775-322-4900.Also on New Year’s Eve, 60 people were detained at a house party on Chaise Drive. “After a good load of people had fled, 60 people were detained,” Sheriff Ken Furlong said. Four were arrested at the house, including a 41-year-old ex-felon and the person who was hosting the party. The host was renting a room in the house.Approximately 20 minor in consumption citations were given and all juveniles were released to their parents except for one who refused to cooperate with her parent.It took deputies three hours to clear the house, which suffered extensive damage. The homeowner was not in town.Six other unrelated arrests were made Monday night and Tuesday morning, including two domestic batteries and a disorderly conduct, according to the sheriff’s office.
