Stadium Cinemas closure rumor scotched by Bloomhuff company

A rumor that Carson Stadium Cinemas, the former Northgate Cinema complex, had closed down the four-screen business on Carson City’s north side was put to rest Monday by Todd Bloomhuff of the theater’s parent firm.Bloomhuff, chief executive officer of Bloomhuff Entertainment Inc., in Incline Village, said the theater was open and playing eight movies, alternating them on the four screens in the theater building at 2571 N. Carson St.“The theater is open,” he said. “We’re doing very well. The community has embraced us.”Bloomhuff said the cost is $3 per ticket, adding, “A family of four can see a movie for $12.”The theater complex, which is open afternoons and evenings, was called a top-of-the-line discount house when it was refurbished and reopened in 2010. Bloomhuff said he put up $95,000 and the landlord also upgraded the premises as well.Bloomhuff said his company has nine theater units in Nevada, California and New Mexico, with 25 screens in all.
