Thunder Canyon wants you.

The country club located in Washoe Valley has put together several specials in an effort to attract new members to its beautiful par-72 course.

Consider the following membership specials:

• The Twilight membership has two levels, individual and family. For the individual, there is a $200 initiation fee, $100 monthly dues and $10 cart fee per round. For a family membership in this plan, there is a $200 initiation fee, $150 monthly dues and $10 cart fee per round.

There are no food or beverage minimums.

Until the time changes you can play after 2 p.m. any day, and when the time changes, you can play starting at noon.

• The Young Executive membership has two age levels, 18-35 and 36-45. The 18-35 single membership has a $350 initiation fee, $150 monthly dues and a $500 annual cart fee, and the 36-45 membership is the same except dues. A family membership has an initiation fee of $500, $200 monthly dues and a $500 cart fee in the 18-35 age range. In the 36-45 age range, the fees are the same with the exception that monthly dues are $250. If you join by July 15, you get one month of free dues.

• Member for a Week is also being offered starting Tuesday and running through July 14.

You get unlimited golfing privileges, driving range access with unlimited golf balls and participation in men’s and women’s tournaments held at the course. The cost is $99 per person.

• The Copper membership plan is $395 for initiation, $395 annual cart fee and $345 monthly dues ($395 for family membership).

The membership is good for one calendar year at which time the dues will be adjusted to reflect the current dues rates.

I’ve been fortunate enough to play the course and it’s a great layout.

The course was named the 2011 NGCOA Nevada Golf Course of the Year, and was the runner-up for the national course of he year.
