Mobile mammogram unit is set to visit
The Nevada Health Center’s Mammovan, a mobile mammography unit, will offer mammograms to women 40 and older from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Smith’s, 2200 U.S. Highway 50 E. in Dayton; 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday at Nevada Silver Land Inn & Suites, 100 E St. in Virginia City; and 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday at Smith’s, 599 E. William St. in Carson City.
Most insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and Women’s Health Connection are accepted. Upon qualification, mammograms will be available to low-income, uninsured women for free.

Picnic and story time is Wednesday
Capital Christian School invites families of preschoolers and kindergartners to a picnic and story time event from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Participants will meet under the shade tree on the Capital Christian School playground, 1600 Snyder Ave.
Attendees are invited to bring a picnic blanket and lunch.

Watson to portray Mary Oxborrow Saturday
Anita Watson will present “Mary Oxborrow: Pioneer Midwife and Healer” 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park in Minden.
The chautauqua presentation will provide insight into the role of women in Mormon society, medical practices in Nevada, social life on the frontier, and aspects of culture in the Great Basin in the nineteenth century.
The presentation is free. Seating and shade will be provided, but visitors are welcome to bring chairs.

‘Bats: Truth or Tales’ program is Aug. 3
Brian Buttazoni will present “Bats: Truth or Tales” 8:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 3 at Washoe Lake State Park’s equestrian area pavilion.

‘Kingdom Rock’ Bible school is set
