James Fredrick “Jim” McQueen, age 72, passed away on June 19, 2013 in Fallon.

He was born Sep. 2, 1940 in Lamar, Colorado to Sidney and Ruby Welty McQueen, and had lived in Fallon since 2005, coming from Lancaster, CA.

Jim had worked as a mechanic for 34 years for the Cal Portland Cement Company in Mojave, CA, retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed camping, fishing with his family, he also had hobbies such as restoring a 1956 Nomad and Model T. Tinkering and fixing anything. He was always helping family and friends, doing repairs on their autos and RVs. He had a talent in making something out of nothing.

He leaves his wife, Diana McQueen; sons, Jimmy Ray of Lancaster, CA, Larry Wayne (Susan) of Fallon; daughters, Nancy Moody (Bob), of Palmdale, CA, Karen Kemeter (Steve) of Fallon; brother, Tom McQueen (Betty) of Fallon; sister, Jeannie Geiger of Winterhaven, FL; brother, Bob Hogan (June) of Mason, NV; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23rd from 3 to 5 p. m. at the Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr. in Fallon. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 24th at 11 a. m. at the Churchill County Cemetery.
