Feb. 3, 1932 - June 21, 2013

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Al Silva passed away peacefully with his wife of 45 years and a granddaughter by his side. He was born in Alameda, CA to Joseph and Anna Silva, joining sister, Goldie who was two years older. Growing up in the Bay Area, Al went to Alameda High School. Always a lover of boats and boating, he spent weekends cruising the Sacramento River Delta. In 1979 he relocated to the tiny delta town of Isleton and lived on the river for five years. He was a small business owner, owning an RV park “Mokelumne Beach Resort.” In 1989 he and Joyce relocated again, this time to Dayton, Nevada where they owned and operated “La Raza Mexican Restaurant” in Moundhouse. Recently, they had become camp-hosts at Stampede Reservoir, enjoying life in their RV and making friends in the campground.

Al leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Joyce; children, Al (Marne), Bret (Chris) and Natalie (Aaron); ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (including a great-granddaughter born just one week before his passing). He also leaves his sister, Goldie and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
