Sep. 9, 1929 - June 22, 2013
Rosaline “Rose” Maxine Williams Rodarte passed away June 22, 2013. She was born September 9, 1929 in Stillwater and was the eldest child of Henry and Amy Adams Williams.
Rose was a proud member of the Fallon Paiute Shoshone tribe. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend that we will remember for her humor, kind nature and beautiful smile. Rose attended Haskell College and went on to become an accountant. This was a great accomplishment especially since not many American Indian women went to college in her day.
She was married to Paul Sr. for 51 years. They had three sons, Ted, Paul Jr. and Henry. The family moved all over the country with the Marines. After retiring, Rose attended many of the games, rodeos and events that her grandchildren were involved in. Her and Paul also traveled to sight see, deer hunt and many other adventures.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son, Ted; her parents and her siblings. She is survived by her sons, Paul Jr. (Patsy), Henry; sister, Sharon Williams; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Rose’s Celebration of Life will be at 1 pm July 13, 2013 in the Stillwater Tribal Gym in Fallon. It will be a potluck luncheon. Please bring a dish to share.
