She graduated from Douglas High School, and married Henry Lloyd Anderson August 30, 1942. Verla worked as a bookkeeper for the Carson Valley Mercantile Company, Minden Mercantile, and Copeland Lumber. She loved gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers, and cooking and baking for her family. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her three children: Lloyd of Gainesville, Florida, Jim (Cheryl) of Minden and Karen Benavidez of Victorville, California; five grandchildren: Lloydina, Rachel, Eric, Brett, and Crystal; and three great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Taylor, and Melody; who will miss her dearly.
