Carson City will host its own version of “Dancing With The Stars” the show when the Western Nevada College chapter of the National Student Nurses Association presents “Dancing With The Stars: Carson City Edition” at 7 p.m. Saturday, at the Carson High School gymnasium.Among the local stars expected to throw down are Sheriff Ken Furlong, District Attorney Neil Rombardo, City Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover, City Supervisor/Adele’s co-owner Karen Abowd, Miss Carson City Vannesa Macias, Carson Tahoe Health CEO Ed Epperson and nursing management’s Shelby Hunt, Lake Side Properties owner Kimberly Seifert, Carson High School assistant football coach Kiko Vega, CHS language arts teacher Phillip Brady, Western Nevada College nursing professor Sherry Neil-Urban, and Coldwell Banker agent Garrett Lepire.The dancers aren’t the only celebrities coming out - Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi is the emcee, and Carson City Mayor Robert “Bob” Crowell and former mayor Marv Teixeira are the event commentators.Tickets can be purchased at WNC in the Joe Dini Library and Student Center, room 105A, on weekdays. Tickets also are available at Coldwell Banker, Thurman's Ranch House, The Purple Avocado and Yaple's Ballroom.
