The Pumas U13 boys soccer team representing the Carson Futbol Club won the recently concluded Comstock Shootout at Edmonds Sports Complex.
The Pumas dominated the competition, going 4-0 and outscoring opponents 32-3 in the tournament.
HUNTLEY TOPS AT EMPIRE
Ray Huntley carded a net 62 to win Flight A in the individual stroke play event for the Empire Ranch Sr. Men’s Club on April 24. John Masiello was second with a 63 and Henry Teague, on a tiebreaker, was third with a 66.
Charles Bell won Flight B with a 62, while Bob Pitcock and Carl Slate were second and third with a 64 and 65, respectively. Paul Weller won Flight C with a 59 followed by Bob Hendry with a 62 and Joseph O’Brien with a 65.
SEAR & COOPER WIN AT THUNDER
Steve Sear and Kent Cooper teamed up for a 58 to win the four-ball stroke play event at Thunder Canyon Country Club on April 27. Bill Gibson and Jim Lutz were second with a 60, and Keith Sulprizio and Tim Foster were next at 63.
The ladies played a four-person scramble, and the quartet of Mary Anderson, Judy Fountain, Jennifer Clements and Jeanne Brennan shot a 58 as did a team led by Virginia Bonar, Ann-Marie Sear and Shelly Brewster. Denice Tsuda, Cheryl Lukens, Gayle Block and Tina Hughes were third with a 60.
PEMBERTON WINS IN CARSON VALLEY
Bob Pemberton finished with 9 points to win Flight A at Carson Valley Men’s Club Stableford event on April 28. Mike Davis was second with 7 and Anthony Smokey was third at 6.
Virgil Anderson won Flight B with 9, one point better than Anthony Moore. Brick Ludington was third at 4. Paul Finan won Flight C with 13 points, six points better than Gary Carston and Larry Lockwood.
DODGION WINS AT SILVER OAK EVENT
Lew Dodgion was the low net winner at the Silver Oak Senior Men’s Club travel day to Lakeridge Golf Club.
James Barnett, Gary Curti, Tona Smith and John Scoville took the second through fifth spots.
• On April 16, the team of Dennis Puccinelli, Pat Lantis, Jim Purcel and Doug McGilvry won the Cha Cha Cha event.
The team of Bob Lewis, Alex Talmant, Freeman Johnson and Rion Causey were second.
CHS FOOTBALL BOOSTERS SCHEDULE MEETING
The Carson High Football Boosters Club will meet on at 6:30 p.m. May 6 at Q’s, located on Fairview Dr.
