1925 - 2013
Born December 7, 1925 in Sparks Nevada, Marjorie was the first born to George and Ida Egan. She was a past worthy advisor of the Carson Assembly of the Order of Rainbow for Girls organization, a social club for up and coming young women. Marjorie attended Carson schools, graduating from high school in 1944, and attended UNR.
She and Walter married on March 3rd, 1950 in Virginia City. Together they had two children, Rae Jean and John. Once the children came along, the family moved to Las Vegas where Walter had been transferred, but returned to Carson City in 1960. Marjorie retired in April of 1980 as the Assistant to the Administrator in the state budget office.
Marjorie was devoted to her two main passions, gardening and her grandchildren, rarely missing attending one of their soccer or baseball games. An active homemaker she was also a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
She died surrounded by her family on April 27th; in the home she shared with Walter for 63 years. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Walter; daughter, Rae Jean Boyer;
son, John Drew, both of Carson City; and her grandsons: Thomas, Liam, Shane, and Sean. Her sister, Barbra Morsberger, of Sparks also survives her. Services will be held at Walton’s Funeral Home on May 6th at 11 a.m.
