Hotel arrivals: Arriving at the Corbett House — Corbett Bros., Proprietors — J. D. Roberts, wife and three children. (November 1874, J. D. Roberts moved his house to Carson City. It still stands at 1207 N. Carson, now called the Foreman-Roberts House.)

Hon. William Woodburn has been the sorest-headed bear on the Comstock and now has become a rampant bull pawing the turf and flourishing his tail in the air as he purchases the North end stocks. “Anything along the ledge is a good buy.”

A couple of horses browsing on George Springmeyer’s lawn here taken to the pound. Grazing on town property is very popular; the new man is going to do away with the strays. After awhile Carson citizens will be able to have lawns and shrubbery around their homes without keeping a herder on watch.
