Eagle Valley Middle School organized three events offering ideas and opportunities about careers and college for middle-schoolers.

On May 8, Western Nevada College’s students and staffers worked with the school on creating a college day event in which students stayed after school, played games and learned about college. The Carson High School Hispanic Leadership group Making Education the Answer also stopped by Eagle Valley Middle and gave the eighth-graders an ice cream social welcoming them to Carson High for next year.

Following that week, the school had a career day for eighth-graders in which community leaders talked to students about their careers and educational backgrounds. Next, students practiced their interview skills by dressing up and going through a formal mock interview that included making a résumé.

Students will find out soon if they got the job they applied for.
