A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday on suspicion of felony maintaining a drug house, among other counts.
According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office:
The Special Enforcement Team visited a home in the 1600 block of East Long Street to serve an arrest warrant. They were met by Macina Marie Helms, who allowed them to come inside. A deputy saw the woman’s son sleeping on the couch in the living room, then saw two large bongs. He later discovered a marijuana plant growing in a rear bedroom, a methamphetamine pipe and parts of hypodermic devices.
Helms acknowledged that she knew about the marijuana growing in the bedroom. The deputy asked Helms if she knew her son was using drugs in the house, and she said yes.
In addition to maintaining a drug house, Helms was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia (meth).
Total bail was set at $24,500. She remained at the Carson City Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
