The NV Energy Foundation donated grants totaling $551,500 to 23 nonprofit organizations in the company’s third quarter, according to NV Energy.
They included organizations statewide, among them 10 in Northern Nevada and the rest in the south. Such grants go to support education, the environment, youth development, the arts and multicultural outreach, as well as health and human services, according to Tuesday’s news release.
In the north, grants go to Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation, Visionscope Institute, Nevada Discovery Museum, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, Boy Scouts of American Nevada Area Council, Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, the Nevada Youth Empowerment Project, Reno Bike Project and United Way of Northern Nevada.
