Thanks for help with Nevada Day float
Generous community sponsors and volunteers from across Nevada created and supported the Nevada Sesquicentennial float in this year’s Nevada Day parade. The float and parade was part of the kick-off for the state’s 150th anniversary celebration of statehood.
The Nevada Sesquicentennial Statewide Commission would like to extend its sincere appreciation and gratitude to its generous parade float sponsors, including Bob Fairman of No Stress Express in Carson City for his financial support and providing a space to build the float; Bently Ranch of Minden for providing a truck, trailer and driver; Scott Brixey for the float; GES Exposition Services of Reno for designing and providing the graphics used on the float; The Flag Store Inc. of Sparks for donating the miniature Nevada flags and large state flags; Silver State Industries of Carson City for donating the T-shirts for children and volunteers on the float; Les Schwab Tire Centers of Carson City for sending personnel to help build the float; Carson Station Hotel and Casino for providing lunch to volunteers; David Stone of Nevada Association of Services of Las Vegas for donating funds to produce 5,000 Nevada 150 buttons; Fritsch Elementary School in Carson City for allowing students to ride on the float; and finally, Nevada Day Inc. of Carson City for waiving the parade entry fee for the float.
The Nevada Sesquicentennial Statewide Commission would also like to thank the parade float volunteers, including Scott Brixey, Brian Clark, Jane Carey, Shaun Carey, Erinn Thomas, John Carl, Guy Dominguez, Jacob Dominguez, Neena Laxalt, Don Newman, Stacy Parobek, Alan Parobek, Pam Robinson, Matt Robinson, Leticia Burke, Christine Hull, Christian Passink, Barbara Smeland and Debbie Murdock.
