RENO — Carson High’s girls golf team prepped for next week’s regional tournament with a third-place finish at Rosewood Lakes on Monday.

Carson finished with a 364, edging Douglas by a single shot.

“We are definitely playing our best golf right now,” CHS coach Jeff Rispin said. “While it will be difficult to qualify for start as a team, we may surprise some people next week. Heather (Evans) and Taylor (Krupp) have the best chance at moving on as individuals.”

Evans led the team on Monday with an 84, while Krupp and Erica Gallegos each shot a 93. Callen Aten shot a 94 to round out the CHS scorers. Bethany Kniffen and Camryn Aten shot 103 and 115, respectively.
