Serge Puchert, an over forty year resident of Nevada, died Friday, October 18th at his home in Carson City of complications of a stroke, Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. He was 85 years old.
Serge was born in Vladivostok, Russia and with his family escaped to China when he was under two years old. He lived all of his younger years in Shanghai and came to the States in 1949. Serge was a graduate of San Francisco State College and had graduate work at the University of Munich and language institutes of
Rotenburg, Germany and Monterey, California.
He leaves behind his wife, Patricia and son, William.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 9th at 1 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 3835 Glen Street, Reno.
The family requests no flowers. Donations in Serge’s memory may be made to the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, P.O. Box 3267, Stateline, NV 89449.
