The family of Mary Anne Jennings would like to thank the many people who were of such help and support during the last few months of her life as well as the memorial service we held in tribute to her.
Thanks to physician assistant Tatiana Warner and medical assistants Sandra Lopez and Daniel Dupree of Sierra Nevada Health Center for the care they provided our mother during her recent illness. To nurse Kim, and Rita, the social worker, and the rest of the staff at Infinity Hospice for their kindness and compassion in helping our mother and us to handle what we knew was inevitable. To the staff at Lab Corp. for always being so gentle with her during the myriad blood tests she required. To Jim Smolenski and the staff at FitzHenry’s Funeral Home for the respect they showed in taking care of our mother’s final requests, even in the face of our gallows humor which was much needed on that Sunday.
To the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s for the beautiful beginning to the service for our mother. To Rev. Dixie Jennings-Teats for presiding over the festival that was the celebration of our mother’s life. To Barbara Longero for the beautiful musical prelude which included the two songs mom specifically asked be played at her funeral. I think it was probably the first time Beer Barrel Polka was ever played in church. To the First United Methodist Church’s Praise Band, A Joyful Noise, for the wonderful music. They were two of mom’s favorite hymns. To Don Bird and Katie Lauder for the special solo. Don, you know mom was waving to you from heaven that day. To Kay Savanelli for the beautiful eulogy. You were a special friend to her for so many years, and thank you for pointing out that it was a festival of celebration that we held, not a funeral. To the First United Methodist Women and again the Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s for the wonderful reception after the service. It was exactly the kind of service our mom would have loved to attend. To Tim Glancy and staff at Lone Mountain Cemetery for ensuring our mother’s final resting place was taken care of. And lastly, to all of the many friends and neighbors who attended her festival, you brought her great joy and love and we thank you for that.
