Lois Louise Nickerson Hoffman, age 87, passed away peacefully on Aug 29, 2013 in Elko, Nevada from Alzheimer’s disease. Born June 28, 1926 in Auburn, California to Albert Franklin Nickerson and Fannie Vaskti Enos. Lois grew up in Auburn, California and graduated from Auburn High School, before marrying Carl Pendleton in 1945 and starting her family in Lovell, Wyoming. Lois enjoyed her life as a homemaker, and after marrying Henry Hoffman in 1963 they raised their family in Fallon, Nevada. Lois loved her life as a wife and mother, working with the Boy Scouts and had a passion for genealogy work and traveling. Lois was a member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving a full time mission for the church in Wells, NV. In her later years, Lois enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Patty.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Fannie Nickerson; sisters, Elsie, Virginia and Norma and brother, Embry; as well as husband, Henry Hoffman and daughter, Arline Hayes. Lois is survived by daughters, Genevieve Pettit, Sherry Pendleton, and Norma Taylor; and sons, Cecil Hoffman, Paul Hoffman, Dennis Hoffman, Douglas Pendleton, Jerry Pendleton, and Carl Pendleton, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Viewing to be held at 10:00 am followed by funeral service a 12:00 pm at the LDS at 125 Tolas Place, Fallon, NV, Saturday Sept 7, 2012. Burial to take place at Fallon Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Fallon 423-2255.
