With Nevada’s 150th birthday celebration about to kick off, the Nevada State Museum in Carson City is offering interested volunteers a chance to make friends and learn history. Tour guide training begins at the museum at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
No experience is necessary, but volunteers are asked to be available at least four hours per month and bring curiosity and enthusiasm.
The 2013 fall volunteer tour guide emphasizes explorer John C. Frémont, known as The Pathfinder. Training is Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Sept. 24-25. Each session is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 600 N. Carson St.
