Virginia City will host a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the following addresses: 565 S. D St.; 735 S. D St.; 122 N. A St.; 915 S. C St.; 69 S. I St.; 176 S. L St.; 398 N. B St.; 120 S. B St.; 65 N. B St.; 219 S. I St.; 348 N. A St. and 299 Union St. in Virginia City and at 1625 Main St. in Gold Hill.
Maps will be available in the parking lot of the Fourth Ward School Museum, 537 S. C St. and at the Virginia City Station, 351 N. C St.
Schedule of dance lessons is set
Following is a schedule of dance lessons offered by Larry Ward.
Ballroom dancing for beginners will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 2 through March 26, except for Nov. 27, at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St. The cost is $8 per lesson.
Square dancing for beginners will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Oct. 1 through March 25, except for Dec. 24 and 31, at the Genoa Town Hall. The cost is $6.50 per class for adults and $4.50 per class for ages 13-18.
Ballroom and Line dancing will be offered Mondays from Oct. 7 through March 24, except for Dec. 23 and 30, at the Genoa Town Hall. The cost is $8 per class for both sessions.

‘Anatomy of an Ingot’ author to present Sept. 26
Paul Franklin, author of “Anatomy of an Ingot,” will present at Nevada State Museum’s Frances Humphrey Lecture Series at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26.
Franklin will discuss the early San Francisco assaying business, conflicts with the U.S. Mint, mining stock frauds and more. He will be available to sign books during the event.

Gem and Mineral Club meeting is set
Garrett Barmore will present at the Great Basin Gem and Mineral Club’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Fire Station 12, 3620 Sunridge Drive.
Barmore is the administrator of the WM Keck, Earth, Science, and Mineral Engineering Museum of the Mackay school of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Admission to the presentation is free.
