William E. Saurer

June 30, 1924 -- March 31, 2014

Bill Saurer passed away on March 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Bill was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on June 30, 1924. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad in 1942 and joined the Army in 1943 where he served his country in WWII. He moved to Southern California in 1949 where he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and retired in 1986. He then moved to Gardnerville Nevada in 1993. Bill is survived by his wife Alyce, whom he married on December 31, 1945, two daughters, Rosemary Clarke of Gardnerville and Suzanne Saurer of Ontario California. He lost his son Willy to cancer in 2011. He has 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Gall’s Church on Thursday, April 3, 2014
