John B. Winters has a valuable cinnabar ledge in California, says the Enterprise. It was located last winter, and a tunnel started for the ledge is not in 150 feet. This tunnel has just cut a small feeder of cinnabar, from which the specimens sent here were taken. The cinnabar is in the form of crystals, which are almost as handsome as rubies. The cinnabar is found in bunches, rather than in chimneys or sheets, as in the case of other ores.

Cap Avery will open his new hole-in-the-wall this evening. The place is situated where Judge Cary used to hold his Justice Court. It has been fitted up with Ichi Ban ornaments and thoroughly renovated. The captain is making preparations for a grand jollification.

Substantial improvements have been added to the Hot Springs grounds and buildings this season. For the past two months Morris Raycraft has kept a force of men busy on farm and household work. Plans for new and modern cottages are in the works.

More than 10,000 Nevada men already have been sworn into the armed forces of the nation and slightly more than 1,000 of that number already have been discharged according to Gov. E.P. Carville. “The problem of the returning veteran already is with us,” the governor said. “It is something which cannot wait until the end of the war, but which must be taken care of immediately.”
