Arlene Denmark Keller

Arlene Denmark Keller, Born October 23, 1949 - April 2014. Oakland, California to Angela Hicks and Bill Denmark. She moved to Carson City in 1978 with daughter Hilary. In 1991 she married her soul mate Charles Keller. She was preceded by her mother and father. She is survived by a loving family, Charles Keller (husband), children Hilary Smith (AJ Ternau), Wendy Tims (Curt), Charles Keller III (Lori). Grandchildren, Elizabeth Tims, Corinne Ternau, Jay Keller, Nate Brown and Frankie Urbani. Her brother Jim Hicks, nephew Glen Hicks, niece Wendy Hicks, and longtime best friend Claudia Green, among many other loving family members and a multitude of loving friends. Arlene was an incredibly strong woman, she survived polio as a child, breast cancer recently and suffered many maladies related to polio. However, she led a vibrant life, dedicating her time to the community as a proud member of the United States JayCees, attaining Senator status. She loved working the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Carson City which is where she met her husband, as well as holding many positions in the organization. Arlene was a long time employee of the Carson City Sherriff’s department. Enjoying her time with her co-workers and showing a real passion for being with others. She was a friend and employee to be counted on. Arlene’s favorite pastime was travel, traveling as often as she could, she especially loved taking her grandchildren to Disneyland. That magical place was a favorite family destination. Other favorite destinations were Hawaii and New Orleans. The family always enjoyed Christmas together, Arlene made sure that Christmas Eve was especially beautiful as she would spend hours decorating and redecorating the tree, the center piece of her loving home during the holidays. Family was most important to Arlene which was evident in her ability to unconditionally love. She truly was light and love, both of which will go on through her family. Arlene is a beautiful person, and will be sorely missed as we struggle to move on. Services will be held at Shepherd of the Sierra, 3680 US Hwy 395, Friday April 25th, at 10am.
