An open house on a management plan for open space and parks along the Carson River is set for Monday, Aug. 18, in the Carson City Community Center’s Bonanza Room at 3 p.m.
Carson City’s Parks and Recreation Department announcement said persons interested in areas along the Carson River, including Silver Saddle Ranch and the Prison Hill Recreation Area, are invited to the nearly three hour meeting in the center at 851 E. William St. The session is scheduled to last until 5:45 p.m. a week from Monday.
“The open house will include information, maps and draft recommendations from the management plan,” according to Juan Guzman, open space administrator. His press release also said written comments may be submitted by citizens at the open house. Immediately after that open house session, a public meeting will be held in the center’s Sierra Room. The 6 p.m. meeting will include a presentation and a chance for public testimony.
“A second opportunity to view the presentation and submit public testimony will be at the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on Sept. 2, at 5:30 p.m., in the Sierra Room,” according to the release.
