Infamous Quibble. John James heard this euphonious explosion yesterday from a back room, followed by a rattling of chairs and tumbling of tables. He rushed in to find a couple of chivalrous friends seeking each other’s embrace. Raptures were too violent for health and John waded in to check the conflict. Barbers with damp towels from the shop below crowded in upon the heels of our Sheriff. All who took manual part in the scrimmage fell into a vision of pistols and coffins. A warrant was issued for appearance before the judge at 2 p.m. Both pleaded guilty and divided the costs and the case, dismissed. The youths are men of ancient family, high culture, and generous disposition, yet men withal and probably went off half cocked.

Hardly a day passes that new prisoners are not brought into the Washoe county bastille form different parts of the state and officials are in a quandary how they can handle more. Most of the cases involve federal prisoners arrested for bootlegging.

Maj. Max Fleischmann, Glenbrook, made a gift of a substantial sum of money to the Nevada state museum, it was announced today. He gave the sum of $50,000, the income of which will be used at the discretion of the museum board, as stated by Judge Clark J. Guild. Fleischmann has also ordered the reproduction of the native animals of Nevada.

U.S. District Judge Harry Claiborne, convicted Friday on two counts of tax evasion but found innocent of lying on a judicial ethics report, declared he will appeal and continue to fight until his name is cleared.
