Sylvia Frances McGuire

Sylvia Frances McGuire, 90, passed away October 27th, 2014. Raised in the Southside District of Pittsburgh, PA, she attended catholic school with her brothers, Bill and Fred, and sister Dolores. She graduated high school in 1941. On June 19, 1948, She married Joseph Patrick McGuire. Sylvia was a homemaker and had four children, Donna, Joe, Jim and Judy. In 1964, she moved with her children to Carson where she worked for the Dept of Motor Vehicles from 1970 to retirement in 1990. Sylvia was devoted to her family, full of kindness and accepting of everyone. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, decorating, crafts. She always walked to work, the store & church. Although Sylvia was diminished late in life by illness, her charming and witty personality was never extinguished. Her life will inspire forever all those whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be held at Saint Teresa of Avila in Carson City on Nov 24, 2014 at 11:30 AM, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Sylvia’s name.
