A NxLevel for Entrepreneurs business planning course begins next month in Carson City and ends in April, officials announced Monday.
Michael Salogga, Carson City business development manager and the instructor, and Kathy Carrico, Nevada SBDC training director, made the announcement and said the program provides people who want to start or grow a business the tools to proceed. The SBDC designation from America’s SBDC Nevada office in Reno stands for Small Business Development Centers.
“The main focus is that we teach planning for a person’s business,” said Salogga, stressing he will help with business plans for startups or ways of modifying them for firms already in existence and striving to grow.
“The people of Carson City want good, solid business training,” Carrico added, “and NxLevel is top shelf.”
Cost for the classes runs $295 per person, which is a discount from the normal $395, and Carrico said “we spend $125 per person for books.”
The Nevada SBDC office has provided such classes in more than 22 locations statewide, including last year in Carson City. Salogga taught the course then as well. He said this year it is going to be offered through Western Nevada College as part of the college’s course catalog.
The course begins on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, and will run for 15 consecutive Monday evenings from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. Graduation anticipated on Thursday, April 30. The classes will be at the city’s Business Resource Innovation Center (BRIC), 108 E. Proctor St.
Pre-registration is required and people may contact Salogga at (775) 283-7122 or the Nevada SBDC office in Reno by telephoning 1-800-240-7094. They also may contact Carrico at (775) 784-6879. Course details and online registration are available at either www.nsbdc.org or www.wnc.edu.
