July 8, 1958 - Nov. 27, 2014
Our beautiful Laura left us Thanksgiving morning surrounded by loving family, following a 2 year battle with cancer. We have no doubt that she is singing her heart out and playing guitar with those who have gone before her in one joyful jam session, loving every minute of it. Laura was known through middle and high school as “the girl with the guitar on her back”. She went on to become a well-known entertainer throughout the Northern Nevada circuit as the Laura Bright Show and with her band as Laura Bright and Southern Fried. She entertained throughout norther Nevada, most often at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Fitzgerald’s in Reno, and The Red Garter, along with others in Virginia City, and the Ormsby House in Carson City.Laura was born in Encino, CA, to Marguerite and Leonard bright and moved to Carson City when she was 3 years old. When she semi-retired from the entertainment business in the mid-1990’s, she joined the family business, Image Perspectives, becoming a partner and C.E.O. Laura was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard D. Bright, grandparents, Marguerite de la Vaux, George and Muriel Fettic, and Tom and Leta Bright. Laura is survived by her daughter, Lynzie; two dads, Joseph Dolan and Leonard Bright; mother, Marguerite Dolan; grandfather, John de la Vaux; brothers, Kevin (Debbie) Dolan and Cass (Julie) Dolan; sisters, Lyn (Byron) Stevens, Dawn Dolan (Mark Contreras), Roxanne Kelley (Chris James); best friend, Carl Ruecker; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Haley. A musical Celebration of Life and benefit for several agencies that assisted Laura through her illness will be held in the spring.
