Education achievements: Carson grad named to UNR dean’s list

Destiny Garrett, an education major and 2011 graduate of Carson High School, has been named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at the University of Nevada, Reno. The dean’s list recognizes students with a 3.65 grade-point average or higher.

Garrett is the daughter of Mike and Elizabeth Garrett of Carson City.

Down named to UNR dean’s list

Mallory Down of Carson City is one of 159 students at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources named to the dean’s list for the fall 2013 semester. To qualify, students must declare a major in the college, complete 12 course credits, and earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher.

Down, a wildlife ecology major and 2009 graduate of Carson High School, is studying in Costa Rica and will graduate from UNR in May. She is the daughter of Vicki Parsons and Jeff Down of Carson City.

Johnson achieves at Hillsdale College

Jennifer Johnson, a senior history major at Hillsdale College in Michigan, was named to the fall 2013 dean’s list.

Johnson is the daughter of Sue and Mike Johnson of Carson City. She graduated from Carson High School in 2010.
