Stuart F. Svensson, 73, cherished husband of Sharon Svensson, honored father of Erik Svensson and Sharon Kestral, beloved brother of Bruce Svensson, Sonja Kellogg, and Karen Panelli, passed away peacefully Thursday February 6th, 2014. Also survived by his bright and dear grandchildren: Emma and Derek Svensson. Stuart was raised in Carson City, Nevada, whose population at the time was about the same as its elevation: 4,500. He was confirmed in the Episcopal Church at age 10, was President of the Honor Society in high school and played on the varsity football team. He sang in several choruses, and was Treasurer of the French Club. He did a good deal of hunting with his father and friends. Stuart worked for his father in the construction business during summers through college. Alumna of University of Nevada, National History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta; and Masters at University of San Francisco. Stuart was a history buff extraordinaire, especially British history. He had a long and worthy career at PG&E as Division Manager, and as a retiree, painted, read history, served as an acolyte, lay reader, and vestry member for the Episcopalian Church, and did gourmet cooking. He served on the Rotary Board, in the Lions Club, and for United Way. Services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Los Gatos Monday, February 24th at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated for Wounded Warrior Project, Cancer CarePoint, KQED, or Hospice of the Valley.
