Carson City food inspections for Wednesday, Feb. 19

Following are the Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Feb. 13. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Five Guys, 956 Topsy Lane, Suite 100, scored 100 points.

San Marcos Grill, bar, 260 E. Winnie Lane, 100 points.

Smoke Shop, 1953 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Sunridge Golf Club, bar, 1000 Long Drive, 100 points.

Sunridge Golf Club, mobile food vehicle, 1000 Long Drive, 100 points.

Bamboo Garden, Sushi Bar, 3735 S. Carson St., 99 points. The area behind the sushi bar refrigerator was dirty.

Port of Subs, 1329 U.S. Highway 395, Suite 19, 98 points. Various foods were found at approximately 44 degrees in the reach-in refrigerator under the sandwich make-up counter.

CVS Pharmacy, 1980 N. Carson St., 97 points. An egg carton’s label was dated as past-due. Garbage storage lids were open.

San Marcos Grill, restaurant, 260 E. Winnie Lane, 97 points. Bulk foods not kept in the original containers were not properly labeled. Waste grease barrels were dirty, as was the adjacent wall behind the restaurant. A drainage slope in the rear of the restaurant did not allow for the adequate removal of standing water.

Sunridge Golf Club, snack bar, 1000 Long Drive, 97 points. There were no disposable paper hand towels at the employee hand-wash sink at the bar.

Woody’s Bar, 1987 N. Carson St., Suite 75, 97 points. There was no liquid hand soap in the hand-wash sink dispenser behind the bar.

Bamboo Garden, restaurant, 3735 S. Carson St., 96 points. Floors under the cooking area were dirty in corners and hard-to-reach areas. There was no proof that a certified food handler was on duty.

Grandma Hattie’s, 2811 S. Carson St., 94 points. The dishwasher was found without a chlorine residual. Raw chicken within a plastic bag that was in a plastic tub was thawing above ready-to-eat foods, corrected on site.
