Carson Tahoe Health and Prestige Care, a senior living and memory care company based in Washington state, say they plan construction this year on a memory care facility planned for Carson City.

Prestige Care, Inc. and Prestige Senior Living LLC will join with CTH and a facility with 40 units will be built for memory care services on the Carson Tahoe Specialty Medical Center Campus. It will be on the southeast corner of North Mountain Street and Fleischmann Way.

Ed Epperson, CTH president and CEO, praised the partnership and those involved with Prestige Care, which has assisted living, nursing care and memory care units arrayed throughout eight western states.

“Their experience in memory care and our commitment to the community as the top provider of expert medical care will now allow us to serve residents through a full continuum of care,” said Epperson.

Harold Deamaster, Prestige president and CEO, also commented on the imminent project.

“It is a privilege to do this work,” he said, “and we are fortunate to have found such a great partner in Carson Tahoe Health that shares our values-based approach to care.”

The Prestige program, called Expressions, is called a life-affirming and activity rich residential approach to help individuals with Alzheimer’ disease and other forms of dementia. The community-based program is also billed as person-centered and involves family as well as the individual in the CTH-Prestige facility.

Prestige Care and Prestige Senior Living say they have 80 senior communities in the western U.S. They are in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Alaska, Montana, Nevada and Arizona. The other facilities in Nevada are both located in Henderson, according to the Prestige website.

CTH encompasses three hospitals, two urgent care facilities and several medical support facilities. The Northern Nevada health care network has 22 locations, many in Carson City, but also in Douglas County, Washoe County and Lyon County.
