VARSITY GIRLS

Spring Creek 59, Dayton 19

ELKO — The Dayton girls basketball team dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in league with a 59-19 loss at Spring Creek Friday night.

Angela Sikora led the team with nine points.

“Realistically at this point, we have a lot of work to do,” coach Ben Halverson said. “We’re getting smarter and more and more are recognizing and making the right decisions, but execution causes us to miss a lot of those opportunities. We have a lot of passes bounce of our hands or ankles, and because of that we turn a lot of layup and scoring opportunities into very unforced turnovers. If there is a bright spot in that, it’s that we are seeing the correct decisions with much better regularity.”

Dayton plays at Elko today at 2 p.m.
