FALLON — Churchill County officials have identified a woman whose partial remains were found in a shallow grave over the summer.

Authorities say they used DNA to identify her as Kimberly Seldon, who was last seen in May 2012 at age 42. She was reported missing to the Reno Police Department in December 2012.

Deputies say she went by the name “Kimmie” and worked in downtown Reno.

Seldon’s body was discovered Aug. 18 in a shallow grave north of Interstate 80, near the Jessup exit.

Detectives say she apparently had extensive injuries to her jaw and ribs within about two months of her death.

Deputies issued a composite sketch of her in November after the case remained unsolved.

Sheriff Ben Trotter says a cause of death hasn’t been determined, and investigation continues.
