Former Churchill County Commissioner Norm Frey announced Tuesday he is seeking election to Assembly District 38.
The seat is presently held by Tom Grady who is not running again due to term limits.
“As a fourth generation Nevadan with farming and ranching in my background, I understand the issues that are impacting rural Nevadans in the district. Serving as County Commission Chairman and past President of NACO (Nevada Association of Counties), I know firsthand the challenges facing the cities and counties of AD 38 in these tough economic times,” Frey said.
Frey has appeared regularly in Carson City and Washington D.C., to lobby on behalf of important rural community issues.
A consultant to AgProfessionals of Greeley, Colo., Frey is involved in the increase of the milk supply for Dairy Farmers of America’s new milk processing plant in Fallon. Frey said he has an excellent working relationship with Naval Air Station Fallon and supports the recent FAA designation as an official Unmanned Aerial Systems (drone) site, which could result in thousands of high-paying jobs to the state.
