Robert Warren of Carson City, Nv died Nov 29,2013 of natural causes at Whispering Heights Home for seniors.Bob was born in Kalamazoo Michigan, on Feb. 14,1925 and grew up in Tonopah Nv. After serving in the army, he attended Tulare University in New Orleans, and graduated with a degree in Journalism. He was married to Alma Wilson, also of Tonopah Nv. Bob was at various times City Manager of Sacramento Ca, speech writer for Ronald Reagan ( As Governor of California)and a journalist. He retired as Executive Director of the Mining Commission for the state of Nevada. Bob was a miner and a amateur geologist, and he split his time between Carson City and Tonopah. His closest friends were those he saw when he was home or prospecting working his claims. “Pounding rocks “ in the hills of Nevada was his lifelong passion. He had a deep love of music and was a talented musician. Bob’s “old-time” band was a regular entertainment in and around Tonopah and Warm Springs, Nv when he was growing up. He also played in a jazz band in New Orleans throughout his college years, dazzling on the Saxophone, guitar, piano, harmonica and accordion. Bob had three children, including his late daughter Rebecca Martin of Carson City. He is also survived by grandchildren Tarah Holt of San Francisco Ca: Shawna Holt of Dayton NV: Heather Warren of Ann Arbor Michigan: Kristen Warren of Sacramento Ca. and several great grandchildren. Bob asked that his ashes be taken to Tonopah,NV. Bob’s grandaughters will host a memorial in Tonopah in July 2014. Location and exact date will be announced in local papers in June 2014.
