Centennial scored two runs in the second inning, three in the third and three in the fourth en route to a 13-2 win over the Carson Junior All-Star team Thursday night.
Carson was handed its first loss and plays at 7:30 p.m. tonight against Reno Continental. The winner plays Centennial on Saturday.
Ethan Good gave Carson an early lead starting the bottom of the first inning with a single. He advanced to third on a Centennial error and scored on Derek Schafer’s fielder’s choice.
Good, who started for Carson on the mound, gave up two runs in the second inning. A hit batter, a walk and two singles gave Centennial the lead.
Good started the third inning but was relieved by Wyatt Rooker after a leadoff single.
Rooker gave up two hits and hit a batter, threw a wild pitch and committed a throwing error as Centennial pushed the lead to 5-1.
Three Centennial hits and three errors pushed the lead to 8-1.
Centennial added two more in the fifth to make it 10-1.
Carson added a run in the sixth to make it 10-2. Centennial scored three times in the top of the seventh to round out the scoring.
Good, Terin Keller, Schafer and Josh Buchan had hits for Carson.
Good, Rooker, Buchan and Keller split pitching duties for Carson.
