Mr. D. R. Sessions was appointed Principal of the State University at Elko and is instructed to report to the Board on the course of study. Mr. Sessions will go to Elko and start the University as soon as possible. He graduated from Princeton College, New Jersey, in 1870, excelling in English Literature and the Modern Languages. (The State University moved from Elko to Reno, Nevada in 1885).

In Vietnam a cold war rages,
Soldiers are found with very small wages.
Men fight, women cry--and day and night more people die…

Geraldine Ferraro will be acclaimed the Democratic vice presidential candidate, with Walter Mondale as President. This will make history for her country and her party as the first woman to run for Vice President.
