Thank you to Kruzers for 30 years

I would like to thank and recognize the Karson Kruzers for hosting its 30th annual Run What Cha Brung car show held June 27-28 at Fuji Park.

This remarkable car club has been organizing this outstanding event for 30 years. This is a family friendly event and the quality of cars it attracts each year is extraordinary. Carson City should be proud of the Karson Kruzers and the contributions they bring to our community.

Thank you to the community members who donated items and those who came to purchase items from our annual yard sale fundraiser.

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. We do not receive state or federal funding. We appreciated all who came out on such a hot day.

Thank you to the Hardman House and to the Lotus Salon on Ann Street. Thank you as well to our volunteers who helped organize, set-up, answer questions, then tear down and clean up. Thank you to Kathy Hiltgen, Norm and Carole Tashman, Frank and Carol Watkins, Randy Watkins, Casey Gilles, Frank and Marian Furnari, Mark and Alisa Kuniya, John and Ann Glover, Jim and Millie LaPorte, Zack Kind, Steve, Julie, Ethan, Paxton and Yana Spence.

Organizers of softball tournament deserve praise

Hats off to Jim Dunn and all the volunteers for putting together a very successful All World Girls Softball Tournament, July 10 through July 13, 2014.

It took extraordinary organizational skills to coordinate all the umpires, the field crew, and the snack crew for all three fields; Edmonds, Centennial in Carson City and Stodick in Gardnerville.

The timing of all the games and field maintenance was something to behold. It was exciting to see the enthusiasm and participation of the teams from California and Nevada, the parents and the fans.

I am sure the restaurants and hotels appreciated such a well run tournament.
