Five age groups of children ages 4-18 will compete in swimming, biking and running events in Carson Tigersharks’ 11th annual Capital City Kids Triathlon on Saturday at Carson Aquatic Facility and Mills Park.
Children must provide their own bike and helmet, which is mandatory to wear in order to participate. Only children ages 6 and younger are allowed assistance in the pool and transitions.
Organizers ask that children are checked in and ready 30 minutes before their designated start time.
The 13-18 age group starts at 8 a.m. and swims 200 meters, bikes 2.6 miles and runs 1.3 miles.
The 11-12 age group starts at 8:45 a.m. and swims 200 meters, bikes 2.6 miles and runs 1.3 miles.
The 9-10 age group starts at 9:30 a.m. and swims 100 meters, bikes 1.3 miles and runs 0.4 miles.
The 7-8 age group starts at 10 a.m. and swims 50 meters, bikes 0.4 miles and runs 0.4 miles.
The 4-6 age group starts at 10:30 a.m. and swims 25 yards, bikes 0.4 miles and runs 0.4 miles.
Participants will receive a triathlon T-shirt, and every finisher will receive a medal.
