SACRAMENTO — Corey Reid finished 13th with 6,298 points in the 2014 Jr. National Decathlon at Sacramento State University.
Reid, who was in seventh place after the first day, dropped down after a no height in the pole vault. He finished the two-day event on a high note with a 4:11.30 in the 1500-meter run which earned him 872 points. His best events in the two-day affair were the 400 (938 points), 100 (832 points) and the 1500.
On Friday, Reid scored 3,677 points with PRs in the 100 (11.13), long jump (20-10 3/4) and the 400 (47.40). The 400 time was a meet, high school and Jr. decathlon record. He high jumped 6-2 2/3 and threw the shot 34-11 1/4.
