Dick and Robbie Green celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday.

The Greens were married on Oct. 31, 1954, in Santa Rosa, Calif. They moved to South Lake Tahoe the following year, then to Carson City in 1970.

Dick was raised in the Bay Area — San Francisco, Oakland and Walnut Creek. He was a professional baseball player whose career was cut short by time spent in the Army. Each year during the winter months, he worked at Harrah’s and Harvey’s until spring training.

Robbie was raised in Huntsville, Texas, and attended nursing training in Houston, Texas.

The pair built and ran Dart Liquors and was partner in Tahoe TV Cable before working at the Dodge automobile store in Carson City.

They have three sons, Rick, Rory and Randy, and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robbie is devoted to her church and raising her grandson, Jacob.

Dick plays golf with the Senior Men’s Club at Silver Oak Golf.

The couple celebrated their diamond anniversary with a family gathering at their home in Carson City.
