The Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors recently named its new president and board of directors.
Dan La Porte, residential and commercial realtor at Chase International in Minden, was named president. La Porte has sold over $65 million in both residential and commercial real estate. He serves on the Douglas County Business Development Counsel Board and is a member of the Carson Valley Business Counsel.
Avis Cherry, realtor at Charles Kitchen Reality in Carson City, was named president-elect. Cherry has been a real estate professional for a dozen years. She is a Certified Residential Specialist and a graduate of the Nevada Association of Realtors Leadership Program. She is a former president of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of CRS.
Steve Bohler from Pinion Pines Realty in Wellington is secretary; Chick James from Realty Executives Nevada’s Choice in Carson City continues in his role as MLS trustee director; and David Shriver from Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate in Carson City continues his role as treasurer.

Brummer achieves No. 2 individual sales award

Tatro honored as Realtor of the Year
Kathy Tatro, a 42-year resident of Nevada, has been named Realtor of the Year by the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors.
The award is the highest award bestowed upon a member of the association. It represents outstanding achievements serving the SNAR, the real estate profession and the community.
Tatro, a Nevadan since 1972, works as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate in Carson City. She has worked in the real estate profession for over 17 years, spending the vast majority of that time working in and around the Carson City area. She had also received recognition by the association in 1997 as Rookie of the Year, as well as being voted as the No. 1 Realtor from 2004-2014 by the Nevada Appeal People’s Choice.
Tatro is a graduate of the University of Utah who holds a Certified Residential Specialist designation. She served on the Carson City Library Foundation from 1997 to 2009, the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors from 1997-2013, and the Carson-Tahoe Regional Hospital Foundation from 2010 to 2013. She also served as the president of the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors from 2013 until this year.
