Tom Zogorski presents Col. Meyling with a plaque of appreciation for exceptional service to veterans.
More than 100 people attended a steak dinner to honor veterans on Saturday at the Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge in Gardnerville, where 55 veterans were treated to a free dinner.
Tom Zogorski, Elks veterans chairman, served as MC for the evening. Mike O’Connell provided the theme music as each branch of the military was introduced.
Guest speaker for the program was Col. Fred Meyling, US Army Retired. He is the current President of Welcome All Veterans Everywhere, or WAVE.
